Saint John Paul II Traveler Sweatshirt
This design represents Saint John Paul II walking the globe as the most traveled pope in the history of the church. JPII traveled enough to go to the moon and back 3 times, or go around the equator of the Earth 30 times. He visited 129 countries traveling a total of 775,230 miles. He spoke 9 languages fluently and ended up being the most seen human in the history of mankind. Over 550 million individuals have personally seen this beautiful saint. He holds the world record for the largest gathering in human history where 5 to 7 million people gathered to see him for world youth day in the Philippines in 1995.
This design also represents his victory over his assassination attempt. On May 13th, 1981 Pope John Paul II was shot in the abdomen passing through Saint Peter's Square and was seriously wounded. He spent the next 3 months in the hospital where it was discovered the bullet just narrowly missed a vital organ. He was convinced that Mother Mary's hand moved the bullet to spare his life, and the next year he went to Fatima, Portugal to plant this bullet in Our Lady's crown. This design shows this bullet ricocheting off the heart of John Paul II, where by Mary's intercession, he was saved.
