Saints Reserve is a Catholic app for meeting the saints, reading Scripture and praying the Rosary. This policy says what the app keeps about you, why, and what you can do about it. It covers the Saints Reserve app. Our online shop at saintsreserve.shop has its own policy, linked below.
Who we are
Saints Reserve is a business in San Diego, California, United States. We decide how your information is used, which makes us the "data controller" under European and United Kingdom law.

The short version
- You can use the app without creating an account.
- We keep what the app needs to remember your prayer and your reading, and nothing for advertising.
- We do not sell your information, share it with advertisers, or track you across other apps and websites.
- You can delete your account and everything kept with it, inside the app, at any time.
What the app keeps
If you use the app without an account. The app gives your phone a random ID so that your prayer history and your saved things are still there the next time you open it. That ID is not your name or your email.
If you create an account. Your email address, the name you choose to show, how you sign in, a profile photo if you add one, and the dates the account was created and last used.
Your prayer. Each Rosary you pray (which mysteries, when, and how long), your totals and your run of days, the days you prayed, the novenas you begin, and the patron saint you choose.
Your reading and listening. The saints you save, like, open and come to know, and the stories you finish or listen to.
Your Bible. Where you are in your reading, your bookmarks and highlights, and any notes you write.
Prayer Points. Your balance, every point earned or spent, any reward codes issued to you, and your invitation code if you invite a friend.
Technical information. Like any app that talks to a server, ours receives your phone's internet address when it connects, and it records the app version and whether the phone is an iPhone or an Android phone.
What stays on your phone and never reaches us. The intentions you write for a Rosary, the time of your daily reminder, and your shop wishlist.
What we do not collect. Your location, your contacts, an advertising ID, or your payment card. The app has no advertising and no analytics kit in it.
Information about your faith
What the app keeps (the Rosaries you pray, the saints you follow, the notes you write beside Scripture) says something about your religious life. European and United Kingdom law treats that as especially sensitive, and so do we. We keep it only to give you the app's features, we never use it to profile you or to advertise to you, and we never pass it to anyone except the companies named below that store it for us. Where the law requires your clear agreement before we keep it, the app asks for it, and you can take that agreement back at any time by deleting your account or by writing to us.
What the app asks your phone for
- Notifications, only if you set a daily prayer reminder. The reminder is scheduled on your phone.
- Photos, only when you choose a profile photo or save a picture from the app.
You can say no to any of these and the rest of the app still works.
Why we keep it
- To give you the app: to remember your prayer, your library and your notes, and to bring them back if you change phones. This is the service you asked for.
- To run Prayer Points: to count what you earn and to issue a reward when you choose one.
- To keep the app safe and working: to stop abuse of rewards and to find faults.
- To answer you when you write to us.
We do not make decisions about you by automated means that have legal or similar effects.
Who else handles it
We use two companies to run the app, and each handles your information only on our instructions:
- Google (Firebase) stores accounts and app data, and delivers the pictures and audio. Its servers are in the United States.
- Shopify runs our shop. When you buy from the Shop tab you check out on Shopify's own page in your browser, and the app attaches your app ID to the order so that a purchase can earn Prayer Points. Your payment details go to Shopify and never pass through the app. The shop's policy is at saintsreserve.shop/policies/privacy-policy.
We share your information with no one else, unless the law requires it.
Where it is kept
Your information is stored in the United States. If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom or elsewhere, that means it leaves your country. Google and Shopify use the standard contract terms approved for such transfers.
How long we keep it
For as long as you keep using the app. When you delete your account, your information is erased from our live systems straight away. Records of a shop order stay with Shopify as long as tax and consumer law require. Server logs are kept for about 30 days.
Your choices and your rights
- Delete everything. In the app: Profile, Settings, Delete Account. This removes your account and what is kept with it. You can also write to us and we will do it for you.
- See, correct or take a copy of what we hold about you. Write to us and we will answer within 30 days.
- Object or restrict. You can ask us to stop using your information in a particular way.
- Complain. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom you may complain to your data protection authority. We would be grateful for the chance to put it right first.
- California. We do not sell or share personal information as California law defines those words, and we will not treat you differently for using your rights.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and you must be at least 13, or the age at which you may consent to this in your country if that is higher, to create an account. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will post the new one here and change the date at the top. If the change is an important one we will tell you in the app first.
