Saint Gabriel is one of seven archangels, only being one of the three mentioned in Sacred Scripture. In Gabriel's best known appearance, He announces to Mary that she has been chosen to bear a son named Jesus, who would be called the Son of the Most High, and Savior of the world. 

God's plan was completely conditional upon Mary's response, and Mary of course said Yes. Her yes led her to great great joy, as well as immense suffering. Let Mary inspire us to say yes to God, and to bear whatever joys or sufferings that may come from it.
